I Will Ride uses their YouTube Channel to post testimonials and pledges from local politicians, community leaders, and citizens that they will ride the proposed Metro Gold Line extension. This not only provides a face to the campaign, but encourages participation.
Santo Domingo Metro, of the Dominican Republic, uses their MySpace profile as another website. They provide background on the system, news about upcoming lines and projects, as well as videos about the transit agency.
Washington State Department of Transportation uses their YouTube channel in the same way as their Flickr account- to share operations, news, and history with the public. Many of their videos capture routine operations, such as winter maintenance, which show the public a candid side of the DOT. A platform like YouTube allows for participation and commentary from users.
